San Marino, CA -- Absolute Art Gallery, a new contemporary art gallery, is very pleased to announce its first exhibition, our grand opening show, ÒDialogue,Ó featuring four artists: Robert Inman, Yoshiko Inman, Lyndelle Stonick and Evgenia G. Willis.  With a strong passion for art, Absolute Art gallery will present a variety of excellent contemporary artists working in many different styles and media.  The gallery will act as go-between classical and modern, human and natural, historical and realistic, and stimulate conversation of such issues in order to provide a window of communication for art enjoyment and appreciation, and to increase dynamic cultural activities for our families, friends, and the community.  The exhibition opens October 1, 2003 and runs through October 25.

Robert Inman, who was born in Nebraska, attended the legendary Chouinard Art Institute, and has traveled in SOHO in New York, in Osaka, Japan and now resides in Los Angeles. His dynamic abstract paintings, figurative art and monotypes reflect his approach to art and his Nebraska roots.  Inman describes his new ÒHeartland SeriesÓ as about space. ÒIt is about the land.  Wide open areas. Room to breathe. A place to stretch. To feel part of Nature & Peace.Ó

Yoshiko Inman has been working with metal collage / installation for a long time. "Art anchors me to life," says Inman. "It gives me balance & joy. I try to respect & be honest with the medium I'm working, in return hoping to respect & be honest with myself." You will feel the passion of art when you see her work.

Lyndelle Stonick responds to her subjects with a sensitivity that can be seen and felt in her work. She is an adept colorist, demonstrating a mastery of her media whether using pastels, oils, acrylics, or watercolors. Her work has been written about in the  "Pastel Journal" (Jan, 2003) and the "Register Sunpost" (August 15, 2003). In October, 2002, KOCE T.V. selected Stonick to be interviewed from among ten artists in a South Coast Fine Art Show. She was awarded the First Place Award in the San Clemente Open Plein Air Painting Competition in June 2003.

Evgenia Gennadia Willis was born in Moscow, Russia, where she attended a special art school in addition to her regular elementary school. She then studied in Poland before returning to Russia and attending the Architectural Academy, where she discovered her interest in the fine arts. She is a member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast. Her work has been exhibited in a number of galleries. In 2003 she was selected by the prestigious Laguna Beach, California "Festival of the Arts Jury" to be a Festival Exhibitor.

The opening reception will be held from 6-9 PM on Friday October 3, 2003 and will be open to the public.

Absolute Art Gallery is located at 2326 Huntington Drive, between San Marino Avenue and Del Mar Avenue, 100 feet east of San Marino City Hall, south of Huntington Library in San Marino.
